We accept out-of-network insurance. This means that we do provide invoices after each appointment for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement if you have out-of-network benefits. Please note, the reason that we do not work directly with insurance companies is that they require a diagnosis of a mental health disorder. We avoid labeling or diagnosing my clients if possible.
If you are unsure if you have out-of-network benefits, we recommend calling your insurance company directly. Important questions to ask are, "What are my mental health benefits", "What is my deductible or what is my out-of-pocket max", and "Do you cover session code 90834?". How much do you charge per session?
Amanda charges $135 per session. Maddie charges $105 per session. We do have a limited number of sliding scale slots available. Please contact us directly for more information.
Can you help me if I don't have a mental health disorder or addiction?
Yes, many women we work with do not necessarily have a substance use disorder or mental health disorder. We also specialize in working with women who are looking for more short-term counseling and are dealing with a specific issue such as: stress, breakups, anxiety, infertility, grief, relationship issues etc. I typically recommend starting out with 5 sessions of highly structured, solution-focused therapy that is tailored to your exact needs.
How do I know if I have an addiction?
Do you feel as though a substance, mental health disorder or activity (gambling, overeating, shopping etc), is taking over your life? Do you feel as though you continue to self sabotage despite your best efforts to get sober, heal or change your life? Do you feel like you continue to do the same thing and can't break the cycle? Do you feel hopeless, depressed, anxious, like you are not living up to your potential? Do you feel powerless over your loved ones' issues? If so, therapy can help.
Can you help me if I am currently in my active addiction?
Yes, many of our clients are currently using drugs or alcohol. After our first meeting we can access whether going to an inpatient rehabilitation facility is necessary before we continue our work together. We also often see clients directly after they complete impatient treatment. Please see resources page for additional information.
How long does therapy last?
The length of time greatly varies between clients and what issues they are working through, including how long someone would like to spend in therapy. Our goal is to get you to a place where you are stable, empowered and consistently applying tools to maintain your freedom. The minimum number we typically see clients for is 5 sessions, if they are stable and dealing with a specific issue.
What is the duration of your sessions?
Individual sessions are 50 minutes; family sessions are 60 -75 minutes and group sessions are 90 minutes.
What is your cancellation policy?
We require 24 hours notice for cancellations. If not, you will be charged for the session. Payment is required at time of service, unless otherwise arranged. Also please note, due to high demand for evening sessions, if a few sessions are cancelled, we may not be able to offer you an evening slot. We accept all major credit cards, cash or personal checks.
How does confidentiality work?
In therapy, everything you say to me is completely confidential with 3 exceptions-- 1) if a child is in danger 2) if you are in danger of harming yourself 3) if you are planning on harming another person.
What are your office hours?
Amanda works from 12-9pm Monday-Weds; and 10am-6:30pm on Fridays Maddie works 9am-12pm on Monday & Wednesday, 12-9pm on Thursdays and has some limited availability on Sundays. Please contact us directly for specific information about scheduling and availability.
